Charter LUTINE
Lutine Yachts Limited, the operating company for the Club is pleased to offer its prestigious 55ft sailing yacht for skippered charter to members of the insurance community, clients and service companies. Lutine is the fourth yacht to be associated with the Club and is a prestigious ambassador for both Lloyd’s and the wider Insurance market. Built by X-Yachts, she is a head-turning yacht, elegant, comfortable and spacious inside. Lutine is ideal for Corporate Entertainment. Chartering Lutine is a highly cost effective way to provide corporate entertainment that is very different to the more run of the mill alternatives. No previous sailing experience is necessary – you will have an enjoyable day on the water irrespective of whether it is your first time out or whether you and your guests are seasoned sailors.
Where is Lutine based?
Lutine is moored in Haslar Marina, Gosport, Hampshire (PO12 1NU for SatNav coordinates) at the mouth of Portsmouth Harbour with easy access to the Eastern Solent. Gosport is approximately two hours by car from central London and there is a direct train service from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour, from where a short ferry ride takes you over to Gosport.
Chartering – What does it involve?
A typical charter will involve a morning of sailing in the Solent before putting in for lunch, at perhaps one of the sailing clubs at Cowes or maybe dropping anchor in a quiet bay and enjoying lunch onboard. After lunch another sail sees you return to Gosport in late afternoon. For those of your guests who want to experience sailing a powerful offshore cruiser / racer this is a chance they will relish, but for those who wish to socialise there needs be no “press gang” as the boat is equipped with powered winches, furling sails – and of course a thoroughly capable skipper and mate.
Longer charters involving over night stays can also be arranged.
How do I arrange a charter?
Firstly, navigate to “Book Lutine” and choose any available date that suits. From there you can click through to the booking system and book on line by credit/debit card.
As an alternative, please contact charter@lloydsyachtclub.com and the charter team will help you with advice on choosing a day, an itinerary for the occasion and provide directions and joining instructions for your guests. We can also provide information on caterers, accommodation, ribs, photographs etc. A qualified Yachtmaster will be provided to skipper the day and the boat is fully equipped with wet weather gear. Lutine is registered to take up to 12 guests and 2 crew, however most people prefer to sail with between 8 and 10 guests. You might also want to consider having a photograph taken of your day on the water or chartering a rib to accompany you or accommodate more people.

What does it cost?
The day charter rate varies from £1,350 to £1,850 according to the season, this includes the skipper but will not include food and drink etc. Rates are shown in the booking system. Lutine may also be available for corporate charter for specific sailing events such as the Round the Island Race, Cowes and Cork Weeks. Special rates apply for these events.
Professional Skipper
Lutine is available on a skippered charter basis only. Lutine must at all times be under the overall control of either Lutine Yachts Ltd own contracted skipper or of a Lutine Yachts Ltd approved skipper from the list of approved skippers. Unless you specify the name of an approved skipper that has agreed to assist you for the charter, Lutine Yachts Ltd will automatically provide an approved skipper for your charter. There is no extra charge, it is an integral and legally necessary requirement that the charterer has a skipper that Lutine Yachts Ltd approves or contracts.
Lutine Challenges
As a corporate charterer of Lutine you are eligible to enter any one of the challenges that have been set for the year. The most popular for a one day charter of Lutine is the Nab Tower challenge – a race to the Nab Tower and back again with silverware to be won by the fastest time of the season. LUTINE LINESLIP REGATTA

Terms and Conditions
Full terms and conditions of charter can be found on the booking system. Please note that your agreement is with Lutine Yachts Limited, the company which owns and operates Lutine. All activities on Lutine are weather dependent. The company reserves the right to postpone or curtail a charter in the case of inclement weather or other operational considerations.
